An ATV rider was arrested and his passenger was injured, after a crash near Koontz Lake Thursday night. Shortly after 11:00 p.m., emergency responders were called to the 20,000 block of 4B Road.

A couple people were airlifted, following a pair of crashes on State Road 17 Monday. Marshall County dispatchers say one crash happened Monday afternoon near the 12,000 block of State Road 17. That followed a separate incident Monday morning, according to dispatchers.
Two Injured in Monday Morning Crash on U.S. 6
A branch in the roadway reportedly led to a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 6 Monday morning. According to the Marshall County Police Department, Melinda R. Dodson of Walkerton was driving eastbound in a Ford Focus. She had just passed Tamarack Road, when she reportedly swerved into the westbound lane to avoid hitting the branch. Continue reading

Even though tax filing season is over, the Internal Revenue Service still urges taxpayers to beware of tax-related scams over the summer months. IRS officials say there are many variations, but most scams demand that taxpayers make an immediate payment to avoid being arrested.
