A groundbreaking ceremony is planned for Tuesday, Nov. 7 for the construction of a 50,000 square foot manufacturing center in Argos.
Marshall County Economic Development Corporation President and CEO Jerry Chavez says the building will be built within Argos’ 75 acre industrial park. The building will be expandable up to 300,000 square feet and will have access to high speed fiber.
Three people were arrested Friday night after police were called to investigate suspicious activity at Walmart.
Plymouth police officers responded to call of two people nodding off inside of a running vehicle in the parking lot. According to police, 27-year-old Shannyn Fritz, of Kewanna, and 27-year-old Shane Webb, of Rochester, said their friend Jerri Harris was inside shopping. The completion date for the U.S. 31 project has been pushed back.
According to INDOT Northwest District Director of Media Relations Doug Moats, the weather and other factors have delayed the completion of the project. The railroad crossing has become a little more entailed so crews anticipate a three week delay. Continue reading

The commissioners will open bids for the lease on the farm grounds at the Shady Rest Home site. The building is not for lease, but the land surrounding the parcel is up for lease as it is every few years.

A model of the USS Indiana SSN 789 Nuclear Submarine will be stopping in Plymouth on Nov. 9 along with a few former crew members.
Members of the Marshall County Blueberry Festival announced this week that in observance of Veteran’s Day the model of the USS Indiana Nuclear Submarine will be available for viewing near the Veteran’s Memorial on the eastside of the Marshall County Courthouse in Plymouth.

The time for Culver’s local Stellarbration event has been amended to accommodate a change in Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch’s schedule.
Culver was named the Division II Stellar Community by Lt. Governor Crouch on Wednesday, Oct. 18. The state Stellarbration was held the following week while the Town of Culver scheduled the local event for Nov. 8. The start time for the event has been moved to 4:30 p.m. ET. Continue reading

Two men were arrested Halloween night after alleged threats were exchanged toward a single victim in downtown Plymouth.
Plymouth Police say an off-duty officer requested assistance on Michigan Street and Washington Street shortly after 7 p.m. after threats were exchanged and a weapon was brandished. A family Thanksgiving celebration event is planned in Culver for Friday, Nov. 17 at the Culver Beach Lodge.
Those who register can bring their small children to the event and enjoy a Thanksgiving show at 5 p.m. Dinner and crafts begin at 6 p.m. followed by an old trunk magic show at 7 p.m. ET. The Plymouth City Council heard a proposal from Clerk-Treasurer Jeanine Xaver, and Eric Walsh from Umbaugh and Associates concerning an increase in water and wastewater rates.
Plymouth City Attorney Sean Surrisi told MAX 98.3 FM News that with Bay Valley Foods and Del Monte closing at the end of year, the city council learned that water and wastewater treatment revenue losses are imminent. Surrisi said a proposal to increase water and wastewater rates to help bridge the gap was brought before the council in a specially-called meeting Monday night. Continue reading

According to Northwest INDOT District Media Relations Director Doug Moats, a decision could come in the next couple of weeks.
The Culver Town Council will hold public hearings on several zoning changes recently approved by the Culver Planning Commission.
