USS Indiana Model, Crew to Stop in Plymouth

A model of the USS Indiana SSN 789 Nuclear Submarine will be stopping in Plymouth on Nov. 9 along with a few former crew members.

Members of the Marshall County Blueberry Festival announced this week that in observance of Veteran’s Day the model of the USS Indiana Nuclear Submarine will be available for viewing near the Veteran’s Memorial on the eastside of the Marshall County Courthouse in Plymouth.

The event is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Thursday, Nov.9. Crew members will be there to share stories and talk about the 30 ft model of the submarine.

The USS Indiana is the 16th Virginia Class nuclear submarine and the 4th U.S. Navy ship to be named USS Indiana. According to information released by the Marshall County Blueberry staff, the last ship with this name sailed 70 years ago during WWII.
