Plymouth Board of Public Works Opens Demolition Bids

The Plymouth Board of Works and Safety members opened bids for the demolition of homes on Water Street to make way for the new Water Street Townhomes project.

City Attorney Jeff Houin noted that the contractor, Sandhill Farms, will pay for the demolition costs, but the bids needed to be opened in a public meeting as there is public money involved in the project.

Langfeldt Excavating submitted a base bid of $38,460. Thomas Excavating and Welding, Inc. in Culver submitted a base bid of $42,730.

The board was not required to take action. The bid packets will be reviewed by Kevin Berger and Brent Martin for the next steps in the project.

In other action, the board approved the appointment of Shiloh Milner to the Plymouth Plan Commission. The appointment required a member from the Board of Public Works and Safety.
