Marshall County Commissioners Approve Community Crossings Matching Grant Program Application

The Marshall County Commissioners approved a request from Highway Superintendent Jason Peters Tuesday morning concerning the projects listed in the first round of the Community Crossings Matching Grant Program.

The council members recently approved Peters’ request to apply for grant funding for projects totaling $2,188,309. The 75/25 match was raised to a project total $1.5 million and although the projects went over that amount the Council did approve support of the matching funds of about $547,000.

Several roads will be repaved if this application is approved. Those areas include portions of Nataka Trail, Lawrence Lake Drive, Olive Lane, Easy Street, Elm, Rose, Main, Deer Trail, Golfview, and 9C.

There will be a public meeting held Wednesday, January 24 at 9:30 a.m. ET to hear a comprehensive report on the county Road Program. That meeting will be in the second floor meeting room (Room 203) in the Marshall County Building at 112 W. Jefferson Street in Plymouth.
