Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety Receives Update on Personnel

The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members heard an update on personnel during their meeting last week.

Utility Superintendent Donnie Davidson requested permission to hire two new maintenance personnel for the Wastewater Department.  He said there are typically three maintenance workers, but one resigned August 3 and the head of maintenance will be retiring at the end of the year.

Davidson asked that he get any new employees on the job as soon as possible so training can get started right away so not all of the work is dependent on the remaining maintenance person.  He noted that the funds will be available to take care of salaries through the rest of the year.

The board approved the request with a unanimous vote.

Additionally, Police Chief David Bacon stated that two new officers were sworn into office Monday, August 28.  Clerk-Treasurer Lynn Gorski gave Patrolman Jess Fisher and Patrolman Lance Balsley their oaths of office.  He said that they will be attending the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy.
