Culver Park Superintendent Updates Town Council

Culver Park Superintendent Amber Cowell said the playground project at the Town Park is going well.

The playground is one component of Stellar project near the Culver Lion’s Club in the Culver Town Park.  There will be parking lot improvements, a plaza with added seating and improved accessibility with sidewalks, added lawn space, Farmer’s Market space, the installation of a swinging covered bench, a performance stage, and cornhole boards.

A surface color mistake with the playground equipment will need to be addressed.

Additionally, painting is underway in the Culver Beach Lodge in the old apartment, middle office and hallway portion of the building.

Cowell also reported that six new lifeguards passed their lifeguard certification exams and scenario testing.

Cowell presented an estimate for the parking lot surface project.  The lowest estimate came in at $8,437 from Siders Asphalt which will include milling a small section of the parking lot, resealing, speed bumps, and the parking lot slabs.  She confirmed that the project is a budgeted item and that $10,000 was budgeted for the project.  The council unanimously approved the estimate.
