Marshall County EMA Director Recognized for Years of Service

Marshall County EMA Director Clyde Avery was honored by the Marshall County Commissioners Monday morning for his years of service as he is set to retire at the end of the week.

Marshall County Commission President Stan Klotz read aloud from a resolution during the commissioners meeting recognizing Avery’s 17 years of service as the EMA Director for the county.

Klotz stated, “…Whereas, under the guidance and leadership of Clyde E. Avery the county has established a Comprehensive Emergency Action Plan and he has reacted to incidents within the county with the utmost professionalism; and Whereas, Clyde has been deployed to lead and assist area counties in crisis situations and has been recognized by those counties for assistance and knowledge he provided…”

TR Hagerty from the Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office also presented Avery with the distinguished Meritorious Service Award and congratulated Avery on his retirement.

Avery has also worked with the community in the distribution of NOAA radios and facilitated many discussions on disaster preparedness.
