Marshall County Commissioner Stan Klotz will remain as president of the executive branch.
Klotz was demoted to vice president following a 2-1 vote by the commissioners in a specially-called meeting Wednesday, March 8, but Commissioner Kevin Overmyer stated Monday morning that further consultation with David Bottorff with the Association Indiana Counties found that the notice of the meeting was published with no proposed agenda. Since no proposed agenda was published, it was like the meeting never occurred.
Marshall County Council members took up the issue during their regular meeting Thursday, March 9. Councilman Tim Harman commented that the lack of a proposed agenda produced concern about a legal meeting and questioned any action taken during that meeting. He also pointed out the comments made about government leadership and roles of the commissioners and council.
Council President Jesse Bohannon mentioned that the council and commissioners should be working together to work for the people in Marshall County.
