Culver Resident Questions Safety Regarding School Protection

A resident asked the Culver Town Council last week if an update could be provided to the public about how the town, police and the school are working to protect children in the Culver schools in light of recent school shootings.

He asked specifically what the plans are to protect the children in schools.

Council President Bill Cleavenger asked Police Chief Wayne Bean to prepare a report for an upcoming meeting, while Councilman Rich West stated he would reach out to Culver Community School Superintendent Karen Shuman to attend an upcoming meeting to update the public.

There are policies in place and what can be revealed in public is expected to be discussed during the council’s first meeting in March.
