Plymouth Redevelopment Commission Receives Hoham Drive Project Update

The Plymouth Redevelopment Commission members received an update on the upcoming Hoham Drive project.

The overall project includes the widening of Hoham Drive from Michigan Street to a point 260 feet west of Western Avenue.  This will allow for a 14-foot, two-way left turn west of Western Avenue and a dedicated eastbound right turn lane at Western Avenue.  Curb, gutters and a sidewalk are a part of the project as well.

The project bidding occurred on September 14 where the low bidder was Milestone Contractors North with a bid of $2,546,956.04.

City Attorney Sean Surrisi said there was a pre-construction meeting on December 20 with Milestone Contractors North and engineers from Lochmueller Group and city staff.

The underground storm water detention project in front of the NIPSCO could get started in the spring, depending on the progress of utility infrastructure relocation.  He added that until the weather breaks, everything is running as planned.

Mayor Mark Senter said this particular project has been discussed since he took office in January of 2008 and it is about to see a completion date in 2024.
