Marshall County Commissioners to Meet Today

The Marshall County Commissioners will meet today where they are expected to appoint a Human Resources Administrator.

The Marshall County Commissioners will meet at 8:30 a.m. ET today in the Marshall County Building in the second floor meeting room (Room 203) at 112 W. Jefferson Street in Plymouth.

During their last meeting, the Marshall County Commissioners heard from Highway Department Superintendent Jason Peters about the first round of Community Crossings Matching Grant projects.  Indiana Department of Transportation officials made the announcement of the grant opening at the end of December.

Peters said he had several projects that he thought would be a good fit for the grant, as well as additional paving projects, similar to the process the county went through last year.  Peters commented that the process worked very well last year and the county was able to get several projects done with the help of the grant and the council’s approval of additional funds for projects on top of the Road Program.

The commissioners gave Peters permission to approach the Marshall County Council Thursday night to ask for additional funds for the additional paving projects and the $1 million grant match.
