The Marshall County Commissioners and Marshall County Council heard from Health Department officials about the receipt of a vaccination insurance reimbursement from the state.
Health Administrator Faith Freed explained to the Marshall County Council that this is the third installment for $76,834.47.
“This is for all of the vaccinations that are given. This is the administration fee. It’s not just COVID. It’s all of the vaccinations,” said Freed.
Public Health Nurse Sandy Dunfee explained further to the commissioners.
Dunfee stated, “It started when we were administering the COVID-19 vaccine. We could bill insurance companies for administration only. The vaccine was free. For folks that didn’t have insurance or Medicare or Medicaid, then the HRSA Division was reimbursing us those funds.”
She stressed that it is for those who do not have insurance and while COVID-19 was a part of it, the reimbursement covers all vaccines, including the flu shot.
The Marshall County Council members approved the reimbursement with a unanimous vote, as did the Marshall County Commissioners during their respective meetings.
