Plymouth Utility Superintendent Updates Redevelopment Commission on Hoham Drive Project

Plymouth Utility Superintendent Donnie Davidson updated the Redevelopment Commission members on the upcoming Hoham Drive project.

The overall project includes the widening of Hoham Drive from Michigan Street to a point 260 feet west of Western Avenue.  This will allow for a 14-foot, two-way left turn west of Western Avenue and a dedicated eastbound right turn lane at Western Avenue.  Curb, gutters and a sidewalk are a part of the project as well.

Davidson said a preconstruction meeting Tuesday. NIPSCO crews are in the process of relocating four electric poles which they plan to complete by the end of the year, depending on the weather.  Gas lines will be relocated in March. Other utility lines will be moved in the coming months as well.

Milestone Contractors North, the winning bidder of the project with a bid of a little over $2.5 million, will begin installing the retention pond for storm water in March and other underground infrastructure will be installed in May.

Davidson said the overall project is anticipated to be done by the end of 2023.
