Several members of the Marshall County Council presented a $1.5 million check to the Lifelong Learning Network toward the construction of the upcoming Marshall County Career Innovation Center.

The council members and the Marshall County Commissioners approved funding the project with American Rescue Plan Act Funds received by the county.

The entire project was awarded a READI grant of $1.75 million earlier this year.  The current Plymouth Community Schools Service Center will be renovated to provide additional services.

By helping to fund the construction and renovation required to establish the Marshall County Career Innovation Center, the county is leveraging these one-time funds with the READI funds to provide over $8 million in infrastructure for the county.

The remaining funds required for the project will be from the City of Plymouth and private donations from community and industry.

The Marshall County Career Innovation Center will provide technical and career training for individuals of all ages. Students will be using the facilities for Career and Technical Education classes, working toward receiving certifications and training for jobs after graduation. There will also be a partnership with training providers for adult and workforce continuing education.
