Work continues on several roads in Marshall County that are part of this round of Community Crossings funding and additional paving projects, with work by Milestone Contractors North.
Marshall County Highway Superintendent Jason Peters told the commissioners Monday morning that the reclaiming will be done first and then the base will be installed with the surface last.
The order is 12th Road from Michigan to Maple, Pear from 14B to 18B, 15th Road from State Road 17 to the railroad tracks, Sycamore from 9th to U.S. 30, Union from 9C to 10B, Tamarack from U.S. 6 to the County Line, and 1st from Tamarack to Town Limits.
Most of the roads have base at this point, but Peters believes that all roads will be surfaced in the next two weeks.
Peters said the Highway Department is also busy paving.
Peters commented, “Queen Road from 13th to State Road 17 has been completed. They’re starting on 12th Road from State Road 17 to Pear, and we did one small segment on 2C Road between Elm and 3rd Road where we coated that road with millings.”
Bridge work is also underway on Queen Road, and bridge work on King Road is ahead of schedule due to good weather.
