Marshall County Coroner John Grolich was recently awarded the 2022 Jeff Stout Service of Excellence Award during the 2022 Summer Indiana Coroner’s Annual Training Conference in Indianapolis.
The Jeff Stout Service of Excellence Award is presented annually to a coroner or deputy coroner that demonstrates exemplary service in the field of death investigation. The award is named after Jeff Stout of Howard County who died in 2020 from health-related complications.
Grolich was recognized during Monday morning’s Marshall County Commissioners meeting by Commission President Kevin Overmyer and Commissioners Michael Burroughs and Stan Klotz.
“You are a very dedicated elected official and you take your job seriously. You take the feelings of those families that have lost loved ones and take care of them,” stated Overmyer.
Grolich was also commended for his efforts in working with county government to build the county’s first-ever morgue, and working with funeral directors and health officials during the pandemic.
