Plymouth City Attorney Surrisi presented to the Plymouth City Council this week Resolution No. 2022-997, A Resolution of the Common Council of the City of Plymouth Adopting a Plan for Expenditure of American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 Funds which details that the funds will be utilized in full compliance with regulations for approved purposes.

Some of those potential uses include a portion to support the Solar Panel installation out at the Waste Water Treatment Plant, some of the Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative (READI) grant projects, and the public health initiative Blue Zones.

After committees determine which projects are most viable, they will be brought before the council for more discussion when grant applications open.

Attorney Surrisi said, “For the audience the American Rescue Plan Act was a Federal Legislation that was passed by Congress in response to the pandemic that provided a lot of funds to the state and communities around the state to help rebound from Covid.” The Federal Government regulated how that funding could be spent and it must be utilized by the end of 2024. The Resolution ensures compliance to Federal Regulations.
