Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety Considers Request from Utility, Street Superintendent

Plymouth Utility Superintendent Donnie Davidson approached the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members last week to ask to seek quotes for new vehicles.

He asked to seek quotes to replace a ¾ ton truck at the Water Department and for one at the Wastewater Department.  He noted that the purchases are in the budget for 2022.

Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt asked the board if he could seek quotes for a new snow plow/dump truck.  He would go through the Sourcewell bidding process to get the best deal for the city.  Marquardt said he doubts that they will see a truck this year, but he would like permission to start the process.

The board members approved both requests with a unanimous vote.

Additionally, Marquardt told the board members that bids for street materials were decided.  The best pricing for coarse road gravel and fill dirt came from Stockburger Trucking while IMI had best pricing on washed sand, fill sand and crushed limestone.

He noted that fuel pricing has not been locked in yet as they continue to watch for the best pricing for diesel and gasoline.
