The Jackson Street project in Bremen suffered another setback as an income survey is now required in order for the project to move forward.

Bremen Director of Operations Trend Weldy said Shannon McLeod from Priority Project Resources explained to the Bremen Town Council members last week that information for the income survey will be circulated soon, while a public hearing for the project will not be held until February and anotherlater in the year.

According to plan designs by The Troyer Group, the project includes a reconstruction of Jackson Street just south of Plymouth Street where an entry sign will welcome visitors into an area with a large event center, a one-way flex street, concert stage, and swinging benches.  The area will also feature an open lawn area, landscape area around the existing Standpipe and gazebo, and a crushed limestone plaza with seating and string lighting.

The flex street project is funded through the Office of Community and Rural Affairs through the Marshall County Crossroads Regional Stellar Communities Initiative.
