Marshall County Sheriff Matt Hassel and Coroner John Grolich recently submitted grant application requests to the Marshall County Council and Commissioners.
Sheriff Matt Hassel requested permission to apply for a DARE grant in the amount of $2,500.
Hassel explained, “It helps fund the workbooks and name tags that the DARE officers use in the classroom.”
Coroner John Grolich said he would like to apply for a grant that he received last year where he was able to purchase fingerprinting equipment.
“It focuses on SUDI which is an acronym that stands for Sudden Unexplained Death of an Infant,” said Grolich. “They offered us an extension of $500 that I would use to purchase body bags for infants and children.”
The Marshall County Council and Marshall County Commissioners approved both grant requests with unanimous votes during their individual meetings.
