Groundbreaking for Bourbon Wastewater Project Set for Today

A groundbreaking ceremony for upgrades to Bourbon’s wastewater treatment collection system is planned for today at 3 p.m. ET at 430 Lincoln Highway/E. Center Street.

As part of the project, the south lift station pumps will be replaced and the east lift station will be abandoned for the installation of a wet well with new pumps and controls.  The second phase of the sewer project involves slip lining sewer pipes to extend the life of the infrastructure which is complete.

Haskins Underground is the contractor of the lift station project after submitting the lowest responsible bid of $586,000.  The town’s match will be $243,000.

This project is made possible by Stellar Communities granted to Marshall County Crossroads by Office of Community and Rural Affairs.
