Ken Jones from engineering firm Jones, Petrie and Rafinski (JPR) will be updating the Marshall County Commissioners on the processes concerning the proposed Regional Sewer District during their November 1 meeting.
County Attorney Jim Clevenger noted that Jones is aware that the commissioners are putting the lake areas as a priority for a possible a sewer district rather than the areas around Tyner, Teegarden and Inwood, along with an area what is being called the South Michigan Service area, which is south of Plymouth City Limits.
No decisions have been made yet concerning this venture. A Regional Sewer District Board would need to be assembled whose members would make the decisions based on recommendations.
The residents of Tyner and Teegarden are hosting an informational meeting concerning the proposed Regional Sewer District Thursday, October 21 at 7 p.m. ET at the Tyner Community Building. Jones is anticipated to attend that meeting to deliver more information about JPR’s study that was funded by the Marshall County Health Department.
