John Glenn School Board Approves Resolution with Walkerton Lincoln Fire Territory Board

Members of the Walkerton Lincoln Fire Territory, along with school bus drivers for the John Glenn School Corporation will get some training before the start of the new academic school year thanks to action taken by the school board Tuesday night.

A resolution unanimously approved by the school board allows retired buses to be used for fire training at the Hamilton Station on U.S. 6 in Walkerton this week.  Superintendent Christopher Winchell said the buses have been used for parts and they are no longer useful for the corporation so they will be donated to the Walkerton Lincoln Fire Territory for training purposes.

Winchell said this has been done in the past with good feedback from all involved.

The buses will be set on fire in a controlled environment in order for firefighters, EMS and bus drivers to participate in safety drills.
