The Indiana Department of Health will deploy a Strike Team to the COVID-19 test site in Marshall County for three days next week.
The Strike Team will be at the Lifeplex to conduct drive-thru COVID-19 testing and administer COVID-19 vaccinations Monday, August 30 to Wednesday, September 1 from noon to 8 p.m. ET. They will be offering the Binax rapid antigen and PCR tests. The Pfizer and Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) COVID-19 vaccines will be available to residents who choose to be vaccinated.
Marshall County Health Department officials say the county’s active positive cases are up 62 percent from one week ago. The positivity rate in Marshall County, St. Joseph County and Elkhart County is about 14.40 to 15.16 percent. In a press release, they state, “We are seeing a smaller number of positive cases in our schools in Marshall County that are masking.”
They strongly encourage residents to get the vaccine, wear masks, continue to maintain a social distance, wash hands frequently, and stay home if sick.
