The Marshall County Commissioners opened bids Tuesday morning for upcoming Community Crossings projects.
The Community Crossings projects include the resurfacing of Sycamore from U.S. 6 to 4B, 2C (3A Road) from East Shore to Plymouth-Goshen Trail, West Shore from the Culver Town Limits to South Shore, South Shore from West Shore to Venetian Village Road, South Shore from Venetian Village Road to 20B, Muckshaw Road from 13th to 14th, and Michigan Road from U.S. 31 to Argos Town Limits.
Bidders included Milestone Contractors North (formerly Walsh and Kelly) with a bid of about $1,451,000, Phend and Brown with a bid of almost $1,758,000, E&B Paving with a bid of about $1,770,000, and Rieth Riley Construction Co. with a bid of about $1,596,000.
Highway Superintendent Jason Peters also asked all bidders to submit prices for additional paving projects which include 14th from Muckshaw to U.S. 31, 3rd (North Shore) from West Shore to 3A, Pretty Lake Trail from Quince to State Road 17, Quince from State Road 17 to Pretty Lake Drive to Queen, Sage from West Shore to State Road 110 and East Shore from 3A to West Shore. With these projects, Milestone Contractors North bid about $1,176,000, Phend and Brown bid about $1,394,000, E&B Paving submitted a bid of $1,503,000, and Rieth Riley bid about $1,381,000.
The commissioners unanimously voted to take the bids under advisement. Jason Peters will review the bids and come back with a recommendation at the next commissioners meeting.
