The Argos Town Council members reviewed a resolution Wednesday night that would create an improvement at the intersection at U.S. 31 and State Road 10.
The resolution states that the Town of Argos and Marshall County jointly agree that an overpass should be constructed at that intersection as part of the completion of the U.S. 31 as a Limited Access Highway.
The council members commented that something needs to be done at that intersection as it has been a dangerous spot for motorists for years with numerous accidents there.
A few years ago, the Indiana Department of Transportation proposed constructing a J-Turn there which was met with great opposition by the residents of Argos, Marshall County government leaders, and state legislators who represent Marshall County.
The Argos Town Council members approved the resolution with a unanimous vote. The Marshall County Commissioners are anticipated to act on the resolution during their meeting Monday, June 21.
