EMS Director Sarah McCallum received permission to obtain quotes for Toughbooks.
She told the Argos Town Council members last week that the department needs to update the computers for reports. The Toughbooks are more durable than a regular tablet just in case there is an incident where they are dropped. New Toughbooks with newer software will also allow paramedics and EMTs to properly connect to the lifepacks and Lucas Devices on the ambulances.
There are currently two Toughbooks utilized by emergency personnel on the ambulances.
The town council agreed to allow McCallum to get three quotes for the devices. The council will review the quotes when they meet later this month for approval.
