Marshall County Highway Superintendent Outlines Plan of Action during Winter Storm

Marshall County Highway Superintendent Jason Peters said crews will be working to clear and treat roads as much as possible during this winter storm (February 15-16).

Roads will be snow covered and slippery for the Monday evening/Tuesday morning commute.  Blowing and drifting snow will also be an issue.  A full call-out of snow plow drivers is expected at 4 a.m. ET Tuesday in Marshall County.  Additional information may be released about any updated travel advisories at that time.

The county is currently under a “Watch” level travel advisory which means that essential travel is only allowed such as to and from work or during emergency situations.  Emergency plans should be implemented by businesses, schools, government agencies, and other organizations.

Peters said highway crews will plan to run a 12-hour shift, depending on conditions.  He added that crews will likely be out at 4 a.m. ET on Wednesday to plow and treat roads as needed.

The situation will be monitored by Peters, Marshall County Emergency Management Agency Director Clyde Avery and the Marshall County Commissioners.
