Argos Town Council Approves Purchase of Power Cot for Ambulance

One Argos EMS ambulance will be getting a new power cot.

EMS Director Sarah McCallum asked the Argos Town Council members for permission last week to purchase a power cot from Stryker and other items to go with it, including a power arm, to upgrade equipment in one of the ambulances.  McCallum said the power cot will be more reliable, allow more ease for the patient as they are being loaded into the ambulance, and keep EMS staff from developing injuries when loading a patient into the ambulance.

There were three different quotes presented that make up one power cot unit.  The subtotal prior to a trade-in value was $63,471.74.  With a $7,500 trade-in value of the old cot, the total considered was $55,971.74.  The Argos Town Council members approved the final quote with a unanimous vote.
