The Culver Town Council members agreed to enter into a contract with Chuck DeWitt for building inspections and other needs.
The town had an intergovernmental agreement with Marshall County to use DeWitt’s services as the county’s building commissioner, but since he no longer holds the position, the council members were given the option of hiring him with a separate contract to retain job duties at an annual contract amount of $15,990. He will work 16 hours a week in Culver. It was noted that DeWitt would also attend Planning Commission and BZA meetings.
The change in status will be updated in the town’s salary ordinance.
As for the intergovernmental agreement, Town Attorney Jim Clevenger was authorized to notify the county that the agreement would be modified and the annual $3,000 payment is terminated.
