Argos Town Council Reorganizes for 2021

The Argos Town Council members reorganized for the new year this week.

Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney was retained as Utility Clerk, George Null was retained as town council president and Randy Snead was retained as town council vice president.

Shawn Harley will continue in the capacity of Argos Police Department liaison, George Null will be the liaison for the Fire Department, Randy Snead will continue as the liaison for EMS, and Erica Partin will remain as the liaison for the Park Department.

Once a person is selected to fill the seat formally held by Argos Town Council member Mary Gibson, that council member may be appointed as the Redevelopment liaison.

Additionally, Mark VanDerWeele was retained as the Economic Development Director for the Town of Argos.

The Argos Town Council members will be looking for BZA and Planning Commission members.  Representatives are needed on the Planning Commission as there are not enough members to present a quorum to hold a meeting.  Shawn Harley said he would step into one of the positions for now so meetings can be held, but Town Attorney Derek Jones will look into the situation.

A member is also needed on the Argos Police Commission with the recent resignation of Mark Umbaugh.  Any interested candidates may submit a letter to the Clerk’s Office for review.
