Argos Town Council Members Reject Bid for Old Fire Truck

An old fire truck from the Argos Fire Department gathered one sealed bid, but the council members voted last week to reject it.

In the advertisement, the Argos Town Council members specified a starting bid of $5,000.  The lone bid received was for $4,000 which did not make the minimum bid.  Town Attorney Derek Jones said the council had to reject it as it did not meet bid requirements.

The council voted to re-advertise the truck for bid with a minimum price of $4,000.

It is a 1973 Red American LaFrance diesel fire engine with a Detroit motor, automatic transmission, and is operable.

Room is no longer available to store the fire truck at the fire house.
