Culver-Union Township Fire Chief Recognized for Years of Service

Ken VanDePutte

Several local outgoing elected officials have been honored this month for their years of service to the communities they have served.

At the end of this month, Ken VanDePutte will be entering retirement from the Culver-Union Township Fire Department.  He served the last year as fire chief.  VanDePutte served the Culver community for 25 years as a member of the fire department.

Earlier this month, VanDePutte attended his last meeting as a Culver Community School Board member.  He did not seek re-election.  He served 10 years on the board.

VanDePutte was honored by his fellow school board members and firefighters at recent gatherings.  The Culver Town Council members also wished VanDePutte well in his retirement and thanked him for his service.

Terry Wakefield will return as chief of the Culver-Union Township Fire Department beginning January 1.
