Argos Town Council Takes Action on Salary, Holiday Ordinances

Employees and elected officials in the Town of Argos will not be getting a raise in 2021.

The Argos Town Council adopted a salary ordinance last week where no raises will be included in the 2021 budget.  However, the council approved a recommendation to increase the longevity rate for full-time employees.  The rate will go from $100 annually to $150, with a cap of $4,500 over 30 years.  The employees receive their annual longevity check in the month they were initially hired.  This is the first time the longevity rate has been increased since its inception.

The training stipend will also increase from $25 to $40 under the salary ordinance.

Additionally, the town council adopted an ordinance that sets the holiday schedule for 2021.  There will be 14 paid holidays in 2021, including an employee’s birthday.
