Argos Town Council Reviews Insurance, Longevity Information

Argos Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney informed the town council members at their last meeting that the Anthem insurance renewal for employees will increase slightly.

Mullaney said there is a four percent increase for 2021, which is a good increase, compared to a 9.8 percent increase in 2020 and 19 percent in 2019.

She said it is a good insurance plan with manageable deductibles and the employees are happy with the coverage.  Mullaney encouraged the council to approve the insurance and stay in the co-op.  They approved the same coverage with the rate with a unanimous vote.

Additionally, the council approved a recommendation to increase the longevity rate for full-time employees.  The rate will go from $100 annually to $150, with a cap of $4,500 over 30 years.  The employees receive their annual longevity check in the month they were initially hired.  This is the first time the longevity rate has been increased since its inception.
