Plymouth Street Superintendent Updates BOW on Traffic around Junior High

Plymouth Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt does not recommend a restriction of parking near Lincoln Junior High School during student pick-up and drop-off times on LaPorte and Kingston Streets.

A question about maneuverability of buses around parked cars in those areas was brought up during an earlier September meeting of the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety.  Marquardt said he spoke with Plymouth Community School Corporation Transportation Director Brandon Berger who said things seem to be moving quite well in that area.

Marquardt said there are 22 buses that pick-up and drop-off students in the morning and in the afternoon that takes anywhere from 15 to 20 minutes.  There were a few times where buses have to wait to pass through, but it is a streamlined process.

Where cars are parked Marquardt said they do not seem to be an issue.

If there are issues that come up, the Board of Public Works and Safety members will revisit the situation.
