Marshall County’s CARES Act funding is spoken for with submitted invoices and proposed projects.
Marshall County EMA Director Clyde Avery told the county commissioners this week that what has already been done for the county offices and courthouse to protect the public and employees has exceeded the $1.5 million in CARES Act funding. There are some larger projects proposed including the construction of a morgue and the installation of technology in the commissioners’ room. Other projects are awaiting CARES Act funding confirmation from the Indiana Finance Authority.
Avery added that he is attempting to purchase more personal protective equipment (PPE) from trusted vendors, but they are out of stock with demand from other parts of the country experiencing a surge in COVID-19 cases. However, he did get PPE for the school corporations which is being distributed prior to the start of school.
