The Culver Town Council members reviewed a lease agreement with the Culver Community School Corporation last week that pertains to use of space on the town’s water tower for communication equipment.
Town Manager Jonathan Leist explained that Superintendent Karen Shuman asked for the agreement in order to place bus communication equipment on the town’s water tower. He said the equipment had been located on top of one of the school buildings, but that location no longer suits the purpose.
The town recently entered into a lease agreement with an internet company, but Leist said it could be modified to spell out each entity’s insurance obligation, the length of time the equipment would stay on the tower, what equipment would be there, and what would happen if the equipment had to be moved.
There would be no rent charged for a two-year lease with the school.
The town council members approved the agreement with a unanimous vote.
