The Town of Culver will be offering utility relief for large employers within the incorporated town limits for the months of March, April and May.
Town Manager Jonathan Leist presented the proposed relief program application and qualifications to the Culver Town Council Tuesday night. He said the qualifications are similar to that of the small business relief program presented earlier in the year, but it will benefit companies that employ 50 people or more or government entities. The subcommittee will then look at the applications for a recommendation to the town council.
Leist commented, “Once they come in we can score them. We take a look at what expenses they actually had for March, April and May, take a look at how they were affected by COVID – if they either had a loss of revenue or an increase in expenses, or some kind of combination during that period. I’m suggesting a maximum award of $4,500, or the total of those three bills – whichever is less.”
Leist said once the application is available on the town’s website, company officials can apply through Oct. 6. The council members will review the recommendations of the subcommittee at their Oct. 14 meeting and grant funds to qualifying applicants.
