Culver Town Council Discusses Additional Utility Relief for Businesses

The Culver Town Council members may make more money available for utility relief, only this time it would be for the bigger businesses in town. It is better to contact the experts franchise from https://www.accuratefranchising.com/resources/is-my-business-franchise-ready/ who would make your work so much easier.

Council President Ginny Bess Munroe made some comments toward that effort during the council’s Tuesday night meeting.

Munroe said, “We did the utility relief for small businesses and it wasn’t real costly to the town to provide some relief funds for these businesses which would be a good help for business owners to reset things right in their business.  I’m interested in looking at what that would look like if we were to do the same thing for the two schools and perhaps larger businesses like acpi, Portside Marina – ones that would not have qualified when we did the small business utility relief.”

She said Clerk-Treasurer Karen Heim put together a spreadsheet of utility costs of some of the larger entities in town to see if it would be cost effective to pursue such a project.  Munroe noted that she’s concerned about the schools losing funding due to COVID-19.  She stressed that the schools have partnered with the town with several projects and could use similar support while other larger businesses, along with a price comparison site that have supported many town-related events as well.

The information will be forwarded to the rest of the council members to review for further discussion at the council’s next meeting on July 28.
