Culver Town Council Approves Small Business Utility Debt Relief Requests

The Culver Town Council reviewed eight applications for the town’s Small Business Utility Debt Relief program.

Town Manager Jonathan Leist said the requests totaled $4,632.27.  Leist explained that the business owners could apply for a maximum $1,500 or whatever the total utility invoices were for a two month period.  If the invoices were less than $1,500, than that would be the maximum relief granted.

The guidelines were similar to the Small Business Grant Program where nearly $150,000 was awarded to small businesses to help with payroll, rent or mortgage relief due to the effect of COVID-19.

The town council members approved the application amount as presented.
