The Culver Town Council members considered a quote last week to reseal the brick crosswalks in town.
The conversation was tabled from a previous conversation in February in the matter. Councilman Bill Cleavenger asked that Town Manager Jonathan Leist speak with the contractor to see if there’s a way to reseal the crosswalks with a different coating that doesn’t make them slippery. He said he’s gotten complaints from residents that the crosswalks can be slick when it rains.
During last week’s meeting, Leist said he spoke to R. Bachman Concrete officials and silica sand can be added to the sealant to create a texture that wouldn’t create a slick surface. The additive would increase the price by $850.
The Culver Town Council members unanimously approved a quote to reseal the crosswalks at a cost of $7,867. That quote includes the silica sand.
