No Cases of COVID-19 in Marshall County, County Officials Give Guidance

While there are no positive cases of COVID-19 in Marshall County reported by the Indiana State Department of Health, Marshall County officials insist that the community needs to work together to help in this time of public health emergency.

Marshall County Health Nurse Lisa Letsinger said drive-thru testing is still available through the Health Department.  She encourages a call to a primary care physician if a resident is experiencing a fever, cough and difficulty in breathing.  The call to the physician is encouraged first so hospital Emergency Rooms don’t experience an influx of patients.  The physician will advise action.

The Marshall County coronavirus hotline is available if residents have any questions at 574-335-8560.

Marshall County Emergency Management Agency Director Clyde Avery says many people are experiencing unemployment due to the COVID-19 outbreak so donations to the Neighborhood Center and the food pantry are encouraged to help fellow residents in need.

Marshall County officials also encourage residents to check on neighbors and older adults in the community to see if help is needed.  For more information on resources available to the community that may include food, childcare, housing and utility assistance, or mental health services, call 2-1-1.
