Bremen Town Council Extends Public Health Disaster Declaration

The Bremen Town Council members agreed to extend the Public Health Disaster Declaration through April 30.  This gives the town a chance to be reimbursed with state or federal funding for expenses used toward the response to COVID-19.

In a video meeting on Tuesday afternoon, the council members also agreed to waive late fees as it pertains to town utility bills.  A State order prohibits the town from disconnecting services during this response period.

The Bremen Town Hall is closed to the public, but residents may make an appointment to address concerns at Town Hall.  There is a drive-up window that can be accessed as well.

The Bremen town employees remain at a full work force and Personal Protective Equipment has been distributed to town employees who are at-risk.  Bremen Director of Operations Trend Weldy said first responders also have necessary equipment and two businesses in town are working to provide supplies in the area.  Weldy added that employees are wiping down vehicles during and after use and those in the office are wiping down high touch surfaces with bleach water and sanitizing wipes.  Employees are participating in the social distancing rule as they continue through the work day.
