In order to keep water properly treated, Argos Utility Superintendent Jamie Lindstrom is seeking quotes on a water tower mixer.
He explained to the Argos Town Council during their most recent meeting that he’s finding that chemicals in the water tower sometimes separate from the water while it sits. While it’s not a health hazard, he wants to make sure that proper mixing is occurring to ensure the quality of the water.
In the wintertime, Lindstrom explained that some of the water freezes in the tower and a mixer would help prevent that.
He estimates the cost of a mixer to be around $20,000, but he’s seeking quotes to bring before the council for consideration in a future meeting.
