As part of the Cavalier Sports Park Project on the grounds of the Culver Community School Corporation, Superintendent Karen Shuman said a parking lot project is anticipated.
“We’re going to have our admin parking lot paved along with that project so it’s a smooth surface for the new soccer fields starting this fall,” commented Shuman.
Grant funds from the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs will be used for the Cavalier Sports Park project as it’s in the plans included in the Town of Culver’s Stellar Communities Designation. The Cavalier Sports Park project includes improvements to the soccer fields on the grounds of the Culver Community School Corporation, expanding the parking lots, moving the storm water retention pond to the east, building a restroom facility near the fields, and adding a toddler park.
Culver Town Manager Jonathan Leist recently told the Culver Town Council members that the remaining playground equipment and restroom building kit will arrive yet this month. The project is anticipated to be complete at the end of March.
