Argos Town Council Addresses Stellar Representation

Argos Town Council members decided on who will represent them in the Stellar Community’s process when they met for their second meeting of the month.

Argos is one of the communities that makes up the Marshall County Crossroads region which was designated as the Office of Community and Rural Affair’s Stellar Community back in December. Officials are scheduled to meet with program representatives in February to start discussing specifics.

As the process continues, each associated municipality is required to select Town representatives who will be able to help make timely decisions for particular projects.

Just like last year, Jon VanderWeele and Mandy Campbell will continue to serve on the core team as representatives for the Town of Argos.  In addition to recognizing those representatives, the town council was responsible for selecting a Stellar contact and Town Council representative.

VanDerweele explained why the two additional town-affiliated representatives will be valuable to the process.

He noted, “We’re going to be entering the implementation phase of this and each community is probably going to own their own projects. It may become critical at times for us to need an answer more quickly, like within a couple of days or real fast, before meetings.”

The council voted unanimously to make Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Mullaney the Stellar contact and Town Council President George Null the council representative.
