Several Projects Moving Along in City of Plymouth

The Plymouth Redevelopment Commission members were updated this week on several projects occurring in the city’s TIF districts.

Members of the REES Theater Committee are continuing efforts to rehabilitate the back wall and roof as part of the third phase of the renovation project.

City Attorney Sean Surrisi reminded the Redevelopment Commission members that the fourth phase of the project is included in the city’s Regional Development Plan in the Regional Stellar Communities Designation Program for the Marshall County region.

The fourth phase includes the renovation of the basement which will contain a dressing room and greenroom for performers.  The main theatre will be reconfigured to host four-tiered seating that can accommodate auditorium-like seating or seating for a banquet or conference.

The lobby will be upgraded with ADA-accessible restrooms.  An upper balcony will be remodeled for seating, or a small meeting room, and additional restrooms.  The third story will turn into a meeting space, a restroom and office for the future director.

If Marshall County is designated as a Stellar Region, funding for the fourth and final phase will go toward the project.

In other projects, financial documents pertaining to an upgrade project 506 North Street for Winona Building Products, LLC are nearly complete.  The upgrade will produce more than four manufacturing lines by 2022. Winona Building Products, LLC offers high-quality insulation facings and vapor retarders.

A preliminary project report for the Miller Drive reconstruction project will be presented in December, and Centennial Crossings officials are working on plans for housing development in spring of 2020.

Lastly, River Gate South officials are waiting for a certificate of occupancy permit for the third building in the complex once the elevator can be inspected.
