Plymouth City Council Considers Salary Ordinance for Elected Officials on First Reading

The Plymouth City Council members approved the first reading of an ordinance that puts salaries in place for elected officials beginning Jan. 1, 2020.

The ordinance reflects a 2.8 percent increase that was approved for all city employees and elected officials earlier this year.

The Mayor’s salary proposed for 2020 is nearly $62,877 while the Clerk-Treasurer’s salary is nearly $65,282.  The Common Council members will receive $8,953. Equal portions of those salaries will come from the Water Works Fund, Wastewater Fund, and the General Fund and will be paid in 24 equal installments.

The second and third readings of the ordinance will be considered in a future meeting
